Last night, my husband and I were walking down the stairs in our apartment building.  A mother and child we know were on their way up to their apartment.  After saying hello to them, I asked the little girl, “How are you?”  She looked at me a bit painfully and then said, “I have to go to the bathroom.”

And you know, I appreciated her candor.

Sometimes it’s nice to know how things are really going behind the masks we like to wear.

You’ll be glad to know we didn’t detain her any longer and went our separate ways.  Of course, my husband and I couldn’t stop chuckling to ourselves.  Out of the mouths of babes …

An honest answer is like a kiss of friendship.  (Proverbs 24:26, NLT)
